SHOT Silver Jubilee 2022

SHOT was created in 1996 and now, in 2022, has been at the heart of haemovigilance in the UK for 25 years.

We want to use this year to recognise the contribution of everyone that has supported SHOT over the last 25 years and made it what it is today – our reporters, our team members, our steering group and working expert group members, the MHRA, the UK blood services, our blood donors, the UK transfusion committees and our colleagues across the world.

What’s happening in 2022

During this anniversary year we are planning activities to engage with the transfusion community and promote awareness widely in healthcare:

• Roadshows in the four UK nations from October to December 2022: Cardiff, Wales on 14 October, Belfast, Northern Ireland on 22 November, Edinburgh, Scotland on 02 December, Oxford, England & Manchester, England in January 2023 (precise dates tbc)
• Contributions from reporters and their teams on Twitter
• A joint symposium with the International Haemovigilance Network in July 2022
• Regular webinars focusing on aspects of transfusion safety
