We are pleased to be contributing to the Royal College of Pathologists’ World Patient Safety Day 2026 webinar series, which focuses on this year’s theme: Safe care for non-communicable diseases. The programme highlights the critical role of pathology and laboratory medicine in delivering safe, effective and timely patient care.
The webinar series will explore:
- 1 September: Improving patient safety through Point of Care Testing
- 8 September: Advancing paediatric and maternal health in the UK and abroad
- 14 September: Joined-up healthcare: designing error out of diagnostic pathways
Dr Shruthi Narayan, Medical Director of SHOT will be speaking at the webinar “Joined-up healthcare: designing error out of diagnostic pathways” on 14 September. The session will explore how improved integration, communication and learning across healthcare systems can help reduce errors and support safer patient pathways. We look forward to contributing to these important discussions and sharing how haemovigilance can support safer care across the healthcare system.
Patient safety depends on collaboration, learning and continuous improvement. We encourage colleagues across pathology, laboratory medicine and clinical services to join these important conversations.
