A baseline assessment tool has now been released to support implementation of the SHOT Transfusion Safety Standards. This tool is intended to be a valuable and supportive aid that provides a clear starting point for organisations. It offers a framework to help users assess current practices against the SHOT Transfusion Safety Standards. We recognise that local needs may vary and encourage users to adapt the tool accordingly. For example, some criteria may need to be split or tailored separately for clinical and laboratory teams. The spreadsheet format has been deliberately chosen to allow this flexibility and support local customisation. It is not about judgement, but about promoting learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
