We are delighted to announce that the My Transfusion app and website has been shortlisted in the “Patient Involvement in Safety” category at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2026.
This recognition highlights the strength of collaboration and co-production at the heart of the project. The My Transfusion digital resource has been developed in partnership with patients, bringing together clinical expertise and lived experience to support safer transfusion practice and improve patient understanding and engagement.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to this work, including our patient representatives, SHOT Steering Group members, and Working Expert Group colleagues. Their valuable insights, expertise, and ongoing support have been instrumental in shaping and delivering this resource.
Being shortlisted is a significant achievement and reflects the collective commitment across the community to enhancing transfusion safety and patient-centred care.
Further judging will take place over the coming months, with the winners due to be announced at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards Ceremony on 28 September 2026 in Telford.
We are grateful for this recognition and look forward to the next stage of the process. Congratulations to all teams and organisations who have been shortlisted this year—it is inspiring to see such impactful work being recognised across the healthcare system.
