SHOT e-learning module access changes
The e-learning modules have been created with funding support from the Health Education England and have been designed to increase awareness about patient safety related to transfusion and the role of haemovigilance in transfusion safety.
Available modules include:
(1) Insights from SHOT for safer transfusion
- Module 1 – Haemovigilance Overview
- Module 2 – Reporting to SHOT
- Module 3 – Learning from Haemovigilance
(2) Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE)
(3) Specific Requirements for patients – the essentials
Accessing SHOT e-learning modules
The e-learning modules can be accessed on the elfh Blood Transfusion Training programme and on ESR.
To access the e-learning modules please see the web links below. Please remember you need to be logged in to be able to see the courses and they can be accessed under the SHOT catalogue.

Step 1 – Click in Serious Hazards of Transfusion folder
Step 2 – The three SHOT e-learning modules will be displayed as shown below.
Step 3 – Click on the module you want to do and then on the ‘Play’ button
