New SHOT module available in Blood Transfusion Training

Our colleagues in the Patient Blood Management and Digital Learning teams have been working hard to develop a new e-Learning programme for blood transfusion. The first phase of this is now complete and 6 brand new modules are now available on e-Learning for Health and ESR free of charge for all NHS users.

This programme – Blood Transfusion Training is an alternative to LearnBloodTransfusion and the remaining 3 modules will be available in the next few weeks. To find them simply search “Blood Transfusion” in the catalogue in ESR or ELFH.

Huge thanks and appreciation to the PBM and Digital Learning teams for their help with this, together we are striving to raise awareness and provide user friendly resources to improve transfusion safety.

*The SHOT module consists of 3 short videos providing an overview of haemovigilance (HV), reporting to SHOT, and learning from HV, followed by an assessment and takes around 30 minutes to complete. We hope you enjoy it!
