An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the SHOT Team as the Operations Manager.
Working with the Medical Director, as Operations Manager you will oversee SHOT’s dedicated team who collect and analyse information on adverse incidents that impact on patient safety in relation to treatment with blood components, and provide advice on how these problems can be avoided in the future. You will work with both hospitals and the Blood Services, demonstrating strategic leadership as you plan major long-term haemovigilance initiatives that will ultimately affect practices in the UK and further afield in the EU.
As an NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registered Healthcare Scientist, you’ll have significant experience in an acute hospital setting involving transfusion practice.
Taking responsibility for directing a team of 6 staff, you will see to it that SHOT reports and data achieve their full potential, with recommendations being developed into actions that will ultimately benefit patients and hospital-based teams. As your strategies will be used to deliver training and support for medical staff, this is a far-reaching role in which you will be tasked with everything from ensuring our systems are integrated and highly efficient, to promoting the work of SHOT on an international scale.
